Review: The Giver

During Language class we were given the assignement to write a review and I choose to write about The Giver, a book I read for the lending libary.

The Giver is a science-fiction book, in which Jonas, a twelve year old boy, is the main character. He lives in a community were pain and happiness aren’t known, but everything changes after he is singled out to be the new Receiver of Memory.

The book is written with poetic descriptions and expressed feelings. The writer created an isolated world in which both pain and happiness are unknown for the people in this community. The characters are live in what they consider a normal life but only one of them knows the emotions and wonderful things about life.

Jonas, is singled out to be the Receiver of Memory when he turns twelve, The Giver, will have to transmit to him memories with emotions and colors, but the memories and curiosity we acknowledge him of terrible things.

This book’s fascinating plot will assure to keep the reader entertained from the beginning to the end. Once you have read it you won’t be able to forget it.
